The 1.32 carat, Natural Malaia Malaya Garnet has vivid saturation and excellent clarity with no visible inclusions and is a mesmerizing pink-purple color! Photos are taken under professional lighting and are magnified at 50x zoom to show details that may not be visible to the naked eye. The ring is clearly hallmarked 14K on the inside of the 1.75mm band. When worn, the top of the ring/stone is elevated about 7.50mm from the finger.

Malaia (Malaya) Garnet is a very rare garnet only found in East Africa. Ranging from pinkish orange hue through to a “burnt” orange, it is a unique and stunning gemstone! Mined in the Umba Valley in Tanzania and in Tanga, near the coast, Malaia Garnet (sometimes called Malaya Garnet) is a unique and difficult stone to find in the market, mainly due to its rarity. It appeals to lovers of unordinary gems and its stunning “burnt” orange hue bewitches many. It’s name comes from the Swahili for “misfit” – it was discovered by Tanzanian miners who were looking for Rhodolite Garnet and hit upon a pocket of sparkling orange crystals which they had never seen before. Malaia is actually a mix of two types of Garnet – a red variety known as Pyrope and an orange variety known as Spessartite.
**Currently a size 5 ¼ but could be sized, free of charge, by my master jeweler so that it is ready to be gifted or worn upon arrival! Most rings can be sized a maximum of 3-4 sizes up or down depending on the style of the ring. Please indicate your desired size at checkout and allow up to 10 business days for my local expert jeweler to complete sizing. I do not accept returns on items that have been custom sized or altered at your request so if you are unsure about an item, it may be best to have it sized by your local jeweler just in case.
