The 4.84 carat, Natural Helenite has vivid saturation and excellent clarity with no visible inclusions, and is a vibrant red-orange color! Photos are taken under professional lighting and are magnified at 50x zoom to show details that may not be visible to the naked eye. The ring is clearly hallmarked 10K on the inside of the 6mm band. When worn, the top of the ring/stone is elevated about 5.5mm from the finger.

Helenite, also known as Mount St. Helens obsidian, emerald obsidianite, and ruby obsidianite, is an artificial glass made from the fused volcanic rock dust from Mount St. Helens and marketed as a gemstone. Helenite was first created accidentally after the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. Workers from the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company were attempting to salvage equipment damaged after the volcanic eruption. Using acetylene torches, they noticed that the intense heat was melting the nearby volcanic ash and rock and turning it a vibrant greenish color. The quality of this ring and color of this stone is breathtaking.
**Currently a size 10 but could be sized, free of charge, by my master jeweler so that it is ready to be gifted or worn upon arrival! Most rings can be sized a maximum of 3-4 sizes up or down depending on the style of the ring. Please indicate your desired size at checkout and allow up to 10 business days for my local expert jeweler to complete sizing. I do not accept returns on items that have been custom sized or altered at your request so if you are unsure about an item, it may be best to have it sized by your local jeweler just in case.
